Perkasie, PA - On Saturday, May 4th, members of the Blooming Glen Contractors, Inc. (BGC)/Blooming Glen Quarry (BGQ) Team participated in the annual Adopt-A-Highway beautification of a two-mile stretch of Minsi Trail between SR 113 and Rickert Road in Hilltown Township, Bucks County, PA. The team collected and disposed of 8 bags of trash, 4 sign posts, 1 mailbox, an assortment of car parts and other smaller collectables in 2 hours. This is the 22nd year of participation for the BGC/BGQ team, marking yet another successful cleanup effort to enhance the vitality of BGC’s backyard.
The upkeep of the region’s roadways is directly related to the services BGC provides. As a regional leader in the heavy civil construction sector since 1971, we proudly lay the framework that keeps our region expanding and moving with the completion of projects ranging from interstate roadway systems to international airports. The Adopt-A-Highway program saves taxpayers millions of dollars in cleanup costs and allows the state government to allocate transportation funds to other projects.
BGC currently maintains certifications and is pre-qualified by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Pennsylvania & New Jersey Turnpike Commissions. BGC’s participation in the AAH program also highlights the value we place on volunteerism in the communities we serve. Not only does our business operate within Bucks County, but many of our employees and their families are Bucks County citizens. Litter is not just unsightly for the residents of our community; it also poses a threat to animals that may ingest it, which harms the natural ecosystem.
